High voltage test transformers can be divided into many kinds. Usually, the high voltage test of power transformers can be divided into two categories: characteristic test and insulation test. Among them, the main circuit contact resistance, ampere-volt curve, GIS and polarity of circuit breaker of power transformer and other electrical equipment are mainly tested. Insulation test includes destructive test and non-destructive test. The former involves DC and AC voltage withstand test. Because of the high voltage, it is easy to find the defects of the equipment in the test process, but because it is destructive, it is easy to damage the insulation of the equipment in the test process. Thus, the length of its life is greatly reduced. The latter is generally tested by non-destructive methods, which can find the defects of the electrical equipment as a whole, but because of the relatively low voltage, the sensitivity is also relatively low. The effects of different tests are also different, but in the actual test, non-destructive test is still a common test method.
